Digital Sketchbook

For many years, I struggled to sketch digitally. I found that remapping my workflow to mirror the way I treated my physical planners, journals, and sketchbooks to be the best method for breaking through the block. I approach this digital sketchbook like I would a traditional one - collaging in scans of my ephemera collections, pouring over details, and cramming the pages full to bursting.
I try to take the best of digital's flexibility and non-destructive flows, and blend them with the permanence and fixed finality of traditional.

Figure Drawing

A combination of long pose (2 hours) and short pose (2 to 20 minutes) figure drawings from live models.

Study Buddy

Daily warm-ups focused on fashion, aesthetics, and costuming. Pages are limited to 20 minutes. This exercise is shared with my dear friend, thus the "Buddy" in Study Buddy.

When I was much younger, I had small dreams of getting to be the designer in charge of naming the copic marker colours. Making digital brushes has scratched some of that itch for me.

Caspian Laur is a multidisciplinary artist exploring dark fantasy, character, and erotica. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Computer Art, Animation, and VFX from the School of Visual Arts (2020) and an Associate of Arts in Creative Writing from Bucks County Community College (2016).Caspian has worn multiple hats throughout his career. From toy designer to video editor, he's had his paws in a little bit of everything across the creative world. Caspian currently works as a freelance illustrator and narrative editor while enjoying floor-time with his cat.
